Why people leave WP Engine

Visit caps with overage fees

WP Engine’s Startup plan includes 25,000 monthly visits. Go over and you are billed $2 per 1,000 — a modest traffic spike can become a surprise line on the invoice you did not budget for.

Built for bigger accounts

Since the Silver Lake acquisition, WP Engine’s roadmap, pricing, and support tiers have moved upmarket. It serves agencies and large accounts genuinely well — it is just not aimed at a single small-business site.

Priced for serious revenue

At $30/mo for one WordPress site with a visit cap, WP Engine is excellent for the right customer. Below serious revenue — or if you run anything other than WordPress — you are paying a specialist price for needs that a managed host can cover.

What changes when you switch

Honest pricing

The price you sign up at is the price you renew at. No intro-rate trap, no year-two jump, no add-ons you discover at checkout. If our pricing ever changes, it applies to new customers only — your price stays yours for as long as you are a customer.

Real human support

Real human support, same day, every day. Chat and email answered by the people who operate the platform and can actually fix the problem — no phone queue, no bot to get past, no priority tiers. Every plan gets the same support, whether you pay us $29 or $79 a month.

Beyond WordPress

WordPress, Next.js, Laravel, and other modern stacks — all on the same managed platform. Your host should not make you choose your framework, and you should not have to move again when your site outgrows a CMS. No lock-in to one platform.

How the migration works

1. Start your trial

Sign up at SrvBot — no card charged until day 15. Pick your plan and your region (EU, US, or Asia), and you are in.

2. Share access

Give us read access to your current host and your DNS. We copy everything — files, database, and records — and we will give you a timeline before we start.

3. We migrate while you stay live

We build your site on SrvBot, test it end to end, then switch DNS over. Your old site stays live the whole time, so you never go dark.

What stays the same. What gets better.

Stays the same

Your URLs, content, design, search rankings, and visitors all carry over. Your domain, plugins, and theme arrive intact — same site, same address, same look. Nothing about your site changes for the people using it, and your links and SEO stay exactly where they were.

Gets better

Pricing that holds at renewal instead of jumping. Nightly backups with the restore path tested every single night — most hosts only find out their backups are broken when a customer needs one. Real observability: CPU, memory, request rate, and SSL status you can check yourself, not a badge that just says "Healthy". Credentials rotate every 30 days, SSL is checked hourly, and everything we measure is published on our status page. And real human support on every plan.

Frequently asked questions

Leaving a host you have outgrown should be the easy part, not a project you keep putting off. Here is exactly how a move from WP Engine to SrvBot works — what we do, what we need from you, and what stays exactly where it is.

Is the migration really free?

Yes — on every plan, and it is real hands-on work, not a self-service plugin. We move your files, your database, the DNS cutover, and the SSL, and we set up redirects so your existing links keep working. We build the whole thing on SrvBot and test it before anything points at it. You approve the result; then we go live. The one thing we do not host is email (more on that next).

Does my email move too?

No, and that is deliberate. We do not host email, because mixing email and web hosting is how mailboxes get lost mid-migration. Your email stays exactly where it is — we only point the website at SrvBot, and your mail keeps flowing without interruption. If you would rather consolidate, we can help you move to a dedicated provider like Fastmail or Google Workspace as a separate, unrushed step.

Will my site go down during the switch?

No. We build your site on SrvBot, test it end to end, and only then switch DNS over. Your WP Engine site stays live the whole time — you never go dark. We lower the DNS TTL ahead of the cutover so the switch propagates quickly, and if anything looks off we fix it before the change goes out, with your old site still there as a fallback.

What do you need from me?

Read access to your current host — an export or read-only credentials, never your everyday password — and the ability to update your domain’s DNS when it is time to cut over. That is it. We handle the files, the database, and the go-live. We will give you a timeline before we start, so you always know what happens next and when.

How does the free trial work?

Fourteen days, and no card is charged until day 15. Start the trial, pick your region (EU, US, or Asia), and we migrate in parallel while your current site keeps running. You only continue once you have confirmed everything works on SrvBot. Cancel before day 15 and there is no charge — the trial is meant to cover the whole migration, so you can evaluate the real thing, not a demo.

What if I want to leave later?

Your site and data are yours. You can export a full copy at any time, and if you decide to move on we hand everything over in standard formats — no proprietary lock-in, no exit fees, no hostage negotiation. We would rather earn the renewal than trap you into it.

I use staging — what is the equivalent on SrvBot?

Staging lives on SrvBot Site Pro. If staging is part of your workflow, start on Site Pro and tell us at signup so we land you on the right plan. WP Engine’s staging is genuinely good — Site Pro covers the same push-to-live loop, and you are not paying for a visit cap on top of it.
